Paisley to host Spree festival again

A local festival that combines stand-up comedy and music performances – and has won a national reputation – will be held in Paisley again this year, marking its 10th anniversary.

The Spree is put together by Renfrewshire Council, with the line-up of artists selected by Regular Music, a local concert promoter. The 2022 edition of the festival is set to run for an epic 10 days and will feature both international and local artists across its bill, including Tinariwen, a collective from Malia, and a band from the Highlands called Tide Lines.

Another musical high point at this year’s event is likely to be the performance by Simon & Oscar. This duo consists of Ocean Colour Scene stars Simon Fowler and Oscar Harrison and is sure to delight any 1990s Britpop fans in the town. Acoustic renditions of songs such as The Day We Caught The Train and The Riverboat Song will form part of their set.

Poster printing supplied by Paisley shops can be a very useful advertising tool for the organisers of an upcoming event in the town like this one.

Other performers scheduled to play during the festival include the front man from one of Scotland’s most beloved and long-running bands, Norman Blake from Teenage Fanclub.

The venue for the festival will be the Spiegeltent in Bridge Street, and it will run from 1st to 10th September.
