Paisley to get new industrial units

A number of new units for industrial use are set to be constructed at a vacant site in Paisley, following the decision of Renfrewshire Council to approve the Plans for them.

The local authority gave the go ahead for these units to be built on the site that used to be home to a historic textile mill. Blackhall Mill dated back to the 19th century and was at the heart of the town’s textile industry for decades, but it was knocked down five years ago. Since then, the land has been lying vacant, but it will now be brought back into use.

Vinemeadow is the developer that submitted the Plans, and it is hoping to construct a total of 15 units at the site. These will be used for either storage or business purposes. According to the application, the developer first considered building housing on the land, but decided this would be too expensive.

These units sound like they could be useful to local businesses. Paisley is already home to resources that are helpful for companies based there, such as shops that offer business card printing.

A statement that was issued by the developer says that there is a real demand for industrial units of this size and quality among businesses in Paisley. It also points out that Vinemeadow has successfully built similar facilities elsewhere.
