Paisley concert planned for charity anniversary

Paisley is set to play host to a traditional music concert early next year, as a local arts charity celebrates its 10-year anniversary.

Feis Phaislig is a charity that offers teaching in traditional Scottish music for young people in the area. It was launched in 2015 and has since gone on to become one of the premier Feis programmes in the country. Now, it is about to mark its 10-year anniversary with a special concert that will include performances from over 100 musicians. There will also be a number of guest performers on the night, so this will be an essential event for fans of traditional music.

Paisley Town Hall will be serving as the venue for the concert and people will be able to pay whatever they can afford for tickets. This is sure to increase the demand even more.

Venues in the town sometimes make use of Paisley shops that offer poster printing when they want to promote their upcoming shows.

Feis Phaislig director Grant McFarlane told the Renfrewshire Gazette that:
“This concert will be a true celebration of the community that has built Feis Phaislig over the last decade and of Renfrewshire’s flourishing creativity.”

The host for it will be Joy Dunlop, a broadcaster and Gaelic singer. Among the musicians will be Calum McIlroy, Chloe Bryce and Ron Jappy.

It will take place on 7 February 2026.
