Hammerson purchased the sprawling Abbotsinch Retail Park back in October of 2012. A large B&Q store currently dominates the park, but when the extension is completed, the DIY shop and other businesses on-site, like DFS, will be joined by Wren Kitchens, Maplin Electronics, and homeware firm Dunelm Mill – ensuring that three out of five available spaces have been let in advance.
With the new stores moving into the area on completion, it is felt that the extension Plans will lead to employment opportunities for local people, who will be hired as retail staff. It may also have knock-on benefits for businesses such as Print companies in Paisley who are likely to provide Flyers to advertise the re-opening and poster printing for the store windows.
