Renfrewshire Leisure has commissioned a filmmaker and artist from the town, Kevin Cameron, to put this book about Paisley Town Hall together, and now he is seeking stories from local people to help fill it. He has set up a page on Facebook specifically for the project and is asking residents to use it to post tales and memories of the building for inclusion in the finished book.
This will be called the Paisley Town Hall Time Capsule and it will form one part of a wider bid to ensure that the building – which dates back to the Victorian era – keeps its place as one of the town’s focal points. Speaking to the Daily Record about the project, Cameron stated that:
“This is a fantastic opportunity for the people of Renfrewshire to become part of history and to share their memories with future generations and tell what the town hall means to them.”
