The Paisley Fun Run and 10k Road Race have become annual summer fixtures in the town, and those interested in taking part in either of the runs this year can now sign up to do so. Renfrewshire Leisure is organising both events, while Decathlon – a firm that supplies outdoors and sporting goods – will be this year’s sponsor.
Last year’s races proved to be a resounding success, with more people entering than ever before. This ensured that plenty of money was raised for the charities, including Macmillan Cancer Support, which will be the charitable partner for the 10k event for a fourth year.
Gemma Rankin, winner of the female 10k in 2017, and Derek Hawkins, the former Olympian, were among those who helped to promote the events for this year. Joyce McKellar from Renfrewshire Leisure told Renfrewshire 24 that:
“Every year the event just gets better with more people taking part. This year will be no different…The whole day has a carnival atmosphere with lots of street stalls and entertainment going on.”
The races will take place on August the 19th and organisers of this type of event often rely on printers that can provide poster printing to get the word out to the public.
