Paisley Museum appeal chooses director

The Capital Appeal Campaign that has been set up to raise the money needed to redevelop Paisley Museum has appointed a new director to lead it.

Eric Grounds has built a reputation as one of the most successful fundraising directors in the UK and he is set to begin his new role at the start of next year. He will be tasked with leading the campaign to secure the £5 million that is required to turn the museum into an attraction that can draw in visitors from all over the world, and his past record is certainly impressive.

He has been in charge of close to 100 previous appeals for funding, which include a Marie Curie campaign that raised £35 million and a National Rehabilitation Centre one that brought in £350 million.

Grounds has also been responsible for several cultural and heritage fundraising appeals during his career. Such campaigns often turn to places that produce promotional Pens and similar products to help raise awareness.

Speaking to the Gazette, Grounds stated:

“This project will transform Paisley Museum into an international attraction that celebrates the town’s unique culture and heritage. We want everyone to get behind this project so we can show the world what Paisley has to offer.”

It is hoped that 125,000 people each year will visit the museum when it opens again in four years’ time.
