Chris Elliott has cerebral palsy but did not let that stop him from completing a 100-mile challenge in a motorised wheelchair. He did laps around his garden to make up the miles and raise cash for NHS workers who are fighting the Covid-19 pandemic on the front line. He was hoping to raise £1,000 from this initial challenge, but ended up with £1,400 in donations.
Now, he has decided to carry on and complete another 100 miles with the aim of raising further funds for health workers. Graphic Design Services in the Paisley area are sometimes used by people taking on fundraisers, to help create eye-catching Posters promoting them.
Chris stated that it was Captain Tom Moore who had motivated him to launch his challenge. The 64-year-old uses his chin to operate and control the wheelchair, with Tony Moffatt, his support worker, telling the Daily Record:
“It is just an incredible achievement, which brings him satisfaction and is good for his mental health in that it gets him out of the house and doing something he really enjoys.”
