A popular annual holiday in Paisley will be going ahead with a twist this year, as it moves online to overcome the coronavirus pandemic.
The event, known as Sma’ Shot, is one of the town’s traditions, with the name deriving from a clash between manufacturers and weavers. This dispute came to an end when the former agreed to foot the bill for the tiny stitch needed to bind Paisley shawls called Sma' Shot in 1856. This led to the creation of a one-day annual festival featuring everything from live entertainment to parades and workshops.
While the coronavirus pandemic has made it impossible to stage it in the normal way, the organisers have opted to keep it going in 2020 as a virtual event. Among the many activities this year will be a drum-off to get things underway, with Paisley residents being urged to take part from home.
Following that, there will be workshops, spoken word shows from community organisations, live music and dance and film screenings. Promotional Products created by local printing services are sometimes handed out to people to make them aware of events like this.
One of the highlights of this year’s Sma’ Shot will be the Connecting Threads music and dance show by All or Nothing, which tells the tale of how it came to be. The event will be held on July 4th.Get a Free Quote for Promotional Products
