The opening of a new retail park in Paisley could lead to the creation of over 100 new jobs.
The Wallneuk Retail Park is being constructed at a cost of £10 million and is scheduled to be ready to open in three months’ time, at the start of next year. Details of what will be on offer at the park are now beginning to be announced by the property firm behind it, London and Scottish Investments, and several big names have been lined up.
Lidl will have a flagship outlet within the park, which will be its first Paisley store, while the coffee shop Tim Hortons will have a drive-thru branch there. The Range is also set to base its first-ever Paisley store at the park.
In addition to the 100-plus jobs that will be available at the various retail outlets based there, another 30 are due to be created during the actual building of the park – which is being carried out by Muir Construction. Facilities such as this often lead to work for other local businesses as well, such as printers who are needed to supply stores with Promotional Products.
