The programme of writers appearing at the first-ever Paisley Book Festival has been announced, ahead of the launch of the event next year.
The headliners for the festival are set to be Kirsty Wark, the broadcast journalist, and Nikesh Shukla, a writer. Wark will be speaking about her novel, which is titled ‘The House by the Lock’ and was published by Two Roads earlier this year, as well as talking about her journalistic career. Shukla edited a book called ‘The Good Immigrant’ and will talk about his work at the festival.
Other attendees will include the Fun Lovin’ Crime Writers, who are a band made up of the thriller novelists Luca Veste, Stuart Neville, Doug Johnstone, Mark Billingham, Christopher Brookmyre and Val McDermid. They are set to play a live show at the festival.
Elsewhere, Alan Bissett, Jackie Kay and Janice Galloway will be providing readings and lectures. Organisers of events such as this may use a range of printing services such as banner printing for the venue and Promotional Products for attendees to take away.
Speaking to The Book Seller, festival co-producer Keira Brown said that they were thrilled to be able to offer a line-up that contained a real range of cultural options for the public and that there would something to suit all tastes.
