An annual literature festival in Paisley has announced its line-up for this year, and the headline performer is set to be the author of Trainspotting.
Irvine Welsh will be a special guest at the 2025 Paisley Book Festival. He will take part in a conversation that covers his career as an author, including his latest crime novel. This discussion will also explore his longstanding interest in music. There is no doubt that it will be a highlight of the event, but it is not the only treat in store for those who attend.
Another star performer will be Stuart Murdoch, of the band Belle and Sebastian. He will be reading from his first novel, called Nobody’s Empire. Then there will be a panel dedicated to food, hosted by Coinneach MacLeod – AKA the Hebridean Baker.
The theme for the 2025 festival is ‘The Lives We Live’ and it will look at different parts of life in contemporary society. Among them will be work, love, identity and home.
