Hotel project in Paisley gets green light

Proposals for the construction of a new hotel in the heart of Paisley have moved a stage nearer fruition, after the local council gave the green light to the designs.

These Plans would see the hotel created by converting a building on St James Street that was formerly home to offices. The designs for the project from developers EK-Trend Ltd which were shown to Renfrewshire Council’s planning committee include a restaurant and a bar as well as the hotel rooms and were met with approval at the meeting.

They were also supported in a report written by the head of the housing department for the council, Fraser Carlin. According to the Daily Record, he stated in this report that the design of the hotel was scaled to blend in with other structures in the area and that it would get the building back into use.

The owners of the hotel may decide to use Logo Design services based in Paisley, as part of their branding strategy to add to Letterheads and its other Stationery. Carlin went on to add in his report:

“The proposed change of use would also make a contribution to the local economy with a social benefit, through the inclusion of a bar and restaurant facility, which would generate employment opportunities.”

The work to convert the building may start before the end of the year.
