Western Desert Recce Group (WDRG) is completing the final steps before taking over control of the Whitehaugh Barracks from the council. This will enable it to pursue exciting Plans to bring the site back to life at a projected cost of £3 million.
The main building of the old army barracks is currently in a poor state of repair, but the group has very big Plans for it.
The idea is for it to be turned into a centre for the people of Paisley. This would include a museum telling the living and working history of the barracks, complete with military vehicle displays.
Such a museum would be a draw for both residents of Paisley and tourists. Getting brochure printing outlets to produce glossy Brochures with photographs and information about the displays could help spread the word.
According to the Daily Record, the chairman of WDRG, Gary Wallace, has stated that completing the takeover is now a formality. He added that:
“Our ambition is to try to restore it to what it looked like before, but also to bring in modern features to the building.”
The group has been trying to buy it for four years, and has now been successful.Get a Free Quote for Brochures Get a Free Quote for Plans
