Festival in Paisley to bring country tunes to town

Paisley is getting ready to celebrate all things Americana and country later in the year, as a brand new music festival dedicated to them comes to the town.

Called the Mill Town Music Festival, this event is the latest addition to the summer calendar in Paisley. It is being put together by Cumbrae Promotions; the company built its reputation on the back of the annual Millport Country Music Festival that it has organised for the past seven years. Everyone in Paisley will be hoping its latest idea proves to be a similar success.

Among the roster of musicians who have been lined up to appear at the inaugural festival are five US-based ones. The rest of the bill will be made up of performers from the UK who are passionate about American roots music.

Confirmed artists include Rodeo Stomp, Raintown, Robyn Red, Flatland Cavalry, Andrew Combs, Kaitlin Butts and Alyssa Bonagura. There will also be home-grown musical talent in the shape of Jill Jackson, who was born in Paisley.

One of the options available for advertising festivals is to get local shops that provide poster printing to produce Posters detailing the line-up.

The Mill Town Music Festival will feature two stages offering live music. There will also be line dancing, food and drinks. It takes place on 31st August at Paisley Town Hall.
