Christmas activities for Paisley announced

Renfrewshire Council has announced an exciting programme of events for Paisley to celebrate the festive season and it is hoping that they will help to increase visitor numbers and boost local businesses.

The 2022 Christmas period in Paisley is being put together by the council alongside two partner organisations, Scotland’s Theme Park and the Paisley First business improvement district. The town will mark the festive period with a carnival that lasts for an entire month and that is focused around the town centre, where most of the small firms have their bases.

Among the activities that will be on offer are an ice skating rink that will be set up at County Square and a Christmas Market organised by Paisley First that will include street entertainers, reindeer and a Gingerbread Treasure Trail. There will also be Santa’s Grotto in the Paisley Centre and funfair rides courtesy of Scotland’s Theme Park.

The council can always opt to promote festive events using themed Posters created by graphic design outlets in the town, further helping to boost businesses that are based in Paisley.

Speaking to Renfrewshire 24, Louisa Mahon from the council said:

“We are delighted to be working with our colleagues at Paisley First to deliver a month-long programme of Paisley’s Christmas events designed to help drive footfall to local traders.”

It will run between 30th November and 30th December.
