Booker Prize winner coming to festival in Paisley

The organisers of the next Paisley Book Festival have announced that the winner of this year’s prestigious Booker Prize will be among the headline performers at the event.

Douglas Stuart won the top literary prize for his novel entitled Shuggie Bain, with this being the first year since 1994 that a book from Scotland claimed the award. He has now been confirmed as one of the writers who will take part in the 2021 Paisley Book Festival, which is set to be held as a virtual event early next year.

Renfrewshire Leisure chief executive, Victoria Hollows, told the Daily Record that she was pleased by the fact that it would still be taking place, and was confident that it would provide an engaging online experience, adding:

“We have an excellent line-up of writers taking part and to have Douglas Stuart’s attendance on the back of his fantastic Booker Prize win is incredibly exciting, highlighting the success of our inaugural festival amongst both authors and our audiences.”

Even when events are taking place virtually, such as this one, poster printing supplied by local shops can still be a valuable addition to the promotions for them – alongside online advertising.

The Paisley Book Festival for 2021 will be held between February 18 to 27 next year, with Radical New Futures being the chosen theme for the event.
