A team of academics from the university have received grant funding courtesy of UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) that they will be using to carry out analysis as part of the project. This will look at how culture and arts can make the lives of those who live in Paisley better and happier and will see them directly solicit contributions from local people to find out what they want.
Professor David McGillivray told Renfrewshire 24 that the university had been building a partnership with the STAR Project and Renfrewshire Council for some years and that the grant was the result of that. Speaking about the regeneration Plans he went on to add:
“The outcomes of the project will also feed directly into the ambitious plans the council and other partners have to embed arts and cultural activities in the regeneration of Paisley.”
The organisers of local cultural events often make use of brochure printing provided by printing services in the area, so they have plenty of glossy colour programmes.
The analysis that will be undertaken by the academics will be called ‘Evidencing the Impact of Cultural Regeneration on Poverty: A Collaborative Approach’, with the grant from UKRI being worth £22,500.Get a Free Quote for Plans
