Talent show final to take place in Helensburgh
The final of a local talent contest inspired by a hit television show will be taking place in Helensburgh next month, and excitement for it is already building.
Helensburgh’s Got Talent takes its name from the smash hit ITV programme Britain’s Got Talent. It is an event that happens every year in the town and which is put together by Helensburgh Community Council. That organisation is supported in this task by Lomond Rotary. The competition is open to everyone who lives in the town and the wider area, as long as they have some performing ability.
Last year, the competition was won by pianist Aidan O’Connor, who performed the song ‘Dance With Me Wallis.’ He just managed to beat out 10-year-old Senara Arachchi, who delivered a contortion-based dance routine that she had devised herself. That secured her second prize.
The venue for the 2025 final is set to be Hermitage Academy and the prizes will be the same as last year. The winner will receive a cheque for £100, while the runner-up will get a £75 cheque.
If the organisers of local events want to ensure a good turnout, they need to promote them. Flyer printing by shops in Helensburgh can be an effective way of doing this.
The final of Helensburgh’s Got Talent 2025 will be taking place on 19th June and starting at 6.30pm.
