Helensburgh to host ceilidh for charity

Helensburgh is set to play host to a ceilidh band towards the end of next month, for a concert that will raise money for charity.

The Midgies Folk and Ceilidh Band is set to come to town for a special show. This will be a fundraiser for Children’s Hospices Across Scotland (CHAS), but it will also make for a great night out for local people. The band is made up of Gordon Ross and John MacGregor, and it has a repertoire that includes traditional Celtic music as well as songs from England and the USA.

Over the years, the band has played gigs in more than 20 different countries. Most of those shows have doubled as charity fundraisers, because CHAS is an organisation that is close to the hearts of both musicians. They have raised £35,000 for it during the past few years.

When it comes to the promotion of events in Helensburgh, poster printing by local shops can be a good option. Posters can contain eye-catching designs and important information.

According to the Helensburgh Advertiser, the group said:
“Entry will be £5 per person, which will all go to CHAS, but bring along some extra cash and let’s help this wonderful organisation that helps so many unfortunate children with life-limiting problems.”

The venue for the concert will be Helensburgh and Lomond Civic Centre. It takes place on 20 February.
