This vote was a unanimous one, and now the developer behind the scheme is hoping to submit a more in-depth proposal for approval. Malcolm Pearson is keen to create a business park containing offices for use by companies in the local area, but also other amenities such as a restaurant and pub for families. The chosen site for the development is on the outskirts of Helensburgh, not far from the supermarket Morrisons.
Although outline planning approval has now been given, the project will still have to be reviewed by the Scottish government, as some concerns remain about possible flooding.
However, Pearson told the Helensburgh Advertiser that he felt this would be a formality, before going on to say:
“But if the councillors’ decision is rubber-stamped we can move on to the next stage, which is to seek detailed consent for the offices and the infrastructure, and I would hope we’ll be able to do that in the late summer.”
In addition to this business park, Helensburgh companies can access other useful services like shops that supply Corporate Gifts to help them win new clients.
The Scottish government’s decision on the Plans is due within the next few weeks.
