Dolly Parton Imagination Library launching in Helensburgh

Argyll and Bute is set to get its very first Dolly Parton Imagination Library to help get children in the area more interested in Books and reading, with Helensburgh serving as the location for it.

This library will be based within Helensburgh Community Hub and the people behind the hub have told the council and other community leaders that it will ready to open from next month. The scheme, which takes its name from the celebrated US country singer and songwriter, is about book gifting. Children up to the age of five who are signed up to it are given a free book each month.

During the first year following its launch, the scheme will be available to people living in Helensburgh East and Central, but it is hoped that it can be expanded to take in the west and north parts of Helensburgh by 2024.

Local organisations looking to advertise schemes like this one can use free promotional Pens with the name of the project on them that are provided by Helensburgh shops to do so.

Referring to this book project, a community hub spokesperson told the Helensburgh Advertiser that:

“As an affiliate we will fund the wholesale price of the Books, which is £25 per child, per year and promote the scheme in our area and support registration.”

It will launch on 2nd December.
