Community bingo event planned for Helensburgh
A bingo event for the local community is set to take place in Helensburgh next month, with the aim of bringing those living in the town together.
This event is the brainchild of Grey Matters Active Ageing, a charity organisation that is based in Helensburgh. It was set up to find ways of improving the lives of elderly people – and this bingo night is its latest venture. Despite that though, the event will be open to people of all ages. Furthermore, the organisation is emphasising that it is suitable for bingo beginners, as well as those who are experienced at the game.
Speaking to the Helensburgh Advertiser, Alison Gildea from Grey Matters Active Ageing stated that:
When it comes to advertising local events of this sort, poster printing by Helensburgh shops is one of the options available.
The venue for this particular event will be Helensburgh Parish Church and the refreshments available will include cake and hot drinks. The cost of the bingo books will be £5.
Grey Matters Active Ageing is hoping that the event will help to create bonds between local people of different ages. It wants to reduce isolation levels among the elderly by getting them to mix.
The event will be held on 4 July.
