What's Happening in Helensburgh & Lomond, Scotland…

Art exhibition to be held in Helensburgh

Residents of Helensburgh will have the opportunity to enjoy artworks created by local people next month, as an annual art exhibition is set to take place in the town.

This exhibition is put together each year by Helensburgh Art Club and it features works created by members of the club. These typically include oil and watercolour paintings, but also drawings, craft pieces and handmade jewellery. Every year, the exhibition has hundreds of items on show as well as on sale. All of the art that is included within it can be bought by those visiting the event.

Some of the pieces that will feature this year can be seen in advance by visiting the Helensburgh Art Club website. This contains an online gallery showcasing them. It also has a section dedicated to ‘Artful Windows’, which was an initiative involving the local community. It made use of vacant shop window space to display artworks.

The venue for the new exhibition is set to be Victoria Halls, where it will occupy the ground floor. The organisers of events like this sometimes use flyer printing from Helensburgh shops to promote them.

This year’s Helensburgh Art Club exhibition is the 72nd one and the official sponsors are BTO Solicitors. The company has a long association with the club, having sponsored several previous exhibitions.

The event is scheduled to run from 2 to 4 August.
