What's Happening in Romford, Essex, England…

Theatre near Romford to reopen

A theatre close to Romford will reopen in May.

The theatre in question shall reopen in the middle of May. The Queen’s Theatre Hornchurch, which attracts many from the Romford area, plans to operate in line with social distancing. Flyer printing can be useful in the entertainment industries, particularly when there are events to promote.

Douglas Rintoul is the theatre’s artistic director. Rintoul told the Romford Recorder:

“All the staff at Queens’ Theatre Hornchurch are beaming with joy as we announce the reopening of the theatre. Nothing excites us more than the idea of welcoming audiences back into our building and seeing them enjoy their time with us again.”

Neville’s Island by Tim Firth is going to be the first production at the theatre. The comic drama is based on middle managers struggling to cope with a day out of the office. Neville’s Island was initially put on the stage back in 1992.

Love Letters, a new musical, is going to be staged at the end of June; the production is backed by Essex on Stage. The idea of this programme stems from the desire to champion positive aspects of the culture of the county. The musical has also obtained backing from the Clothworkers’ Foundation.

September will bring Beginning by David Eldridge, who is Romford-born. The play was first shown in 2017. A traditional pantomime shall follow on the heels of the drama.
