Romford hospice gains from major fundraiser
A Romford-based hospice recently obtained funds from a prestigious event that was held.
Saint Francis Hospice received the money as a result of a fundraiser staged by the Boston Global Company. Celebrities such as Steve Davis, Barry Hearn, Jimmy Carr and Sir Trevor Brooking all participated on the big day. Fundraisers often use poster printing services to drum up as much support as possible.
Anne Brown has responsibility for major gifts at the hospice and she told the Romford Recorder:
According to Davis, the hospice receives about a quarter of the resources that it actually requires. As the hospice does a lot for local people, it has to fill the gap via charitable donations. The snooker star explained that, in his view, society does not always do enough for individuals who are approaching the end of their lives.
Maddie Law needed some counselling for bereavement following the premature death of her father. Clair, the mother of Maddie, pointed out that the whole family had been affected by the shock. Support provided from the hospice has reportedly been useful to them all.

“It not only helps to raise much needed funds to allow our hospice to continue supporting local people at a time in their lives when they really need it, but also helps to raise awareness.”
