Romford family raise money for charity

A family from Romford recently held a fundraiser to benefit a local charity.

Romford-based Samantha Black decided to raise cash for First Step. This charity has been finding it tough from a financial perspective. Black is committed to First Step because it has helped her a lot with one of her sons. The family sold sweets and cakes to assist the organisation. Poster printing can be useful in the promotion of fundraisers and other community events.

Black explained the real value of First Step to the Romford Recorder:

“I finally felt I could take Owen somewhere where we both fitted in. I could say what I was worried about and someone would say me too!”

Owen is only five and his life has been affected by poor muscle development and by a deficiency in growth. He has attended First Step since 2015 and this has enabled him to make a lot of progress. His mother empowered him to participate in the fundraising effort.

According to Black, the secret to the success of the First Step project is that its workers have plenty of compassion. She wanted to demonstrate to the team that she cared about them.

The First Step charity is located within Tangmere Crescent. From their own home, the Black family managed to raise over £450 for the cause that they support.
