Romford arts group launches DIY guide
An arts group in Romford is hoping to inspire residents to discover their inner artists, by handing out a free guide to help them bring their creative visions to life.
This guide has been called Home-Inside Out and it is the work of the NO Collective based in Romford. It is just one part of a larger arts project called ourNEST that is being staged over the course of the summer and it offers local people helpful tips for developing a permaculture garden, creating new frames for pictures and producing their own mini galleries for their walls among other things.
NO Collective has stated that it hopes it will turn local people into ‘artists in residence’, with the guide also urging them to help with the building of a bird house for the community. Speaking to the Romford Recorder, the group’s co-founder Natalie Bays said:

Those who have one of the guides and want to help with the bird house windows are being encouraged to contact the collective by phone or email.

“We are now asking local people from Harold Hill, Rainham, Orchard Village and Romford to apply for a free art kit to take part in embellishing its windows with their favourite viewpoints, to make this bird house our home!”
