Plan for Romford Station under scrutiny
Romford Station may receive a new southern entrance if proposals from Transport for London get the green light.
The decision of the authorities will be made prior to the end of March. Graphic design is useful for organisations involved in regeneration, particularly when they are seeking approval for their schemes.
The logic behind the Romford-based initiative has been explained by Transport for London. An existing ramp at the station is seemingly not fit for purpose. This is because the gradient of the feature does not meet the standard expected by the officials in the Department for Transport. A lift and a new building would serve to address the issue. Howard Smith, an operational director at Transport for London, told the Romford Recorder:
BPR Architects pointed out that Network Rail has a wider strategy for Romford Station. The hope is that passenger access without reliance on steps can be delivered.
It is important to recognise that the potential makeover may boost the image of Romford. The possible transformation might promote local economic growth. In addition, the safety of the neighbourhood could well be enhanced as surveillance should be enabled.

"These proposals would help the station support an expected increase in passengers and would complement Network Rail's current works to install two new lifts and refurbish the booking hall."
