What's Happening in Manchester, England…

Ninth Manchester Legal Awards held

The ninth Manchester Legal Awards (MLA) have recently been held, showcasing the work of the city’s legal sector.

For this edition of the event, the Midland Hotel was chosen as the venue for the successful awards show. Eamonn O’Neal was the host on the evening, with Capita Translation and Interpreting opting to sponsor the event. This organisation works with Manchester Law Society. Business cards from Manchester are useful for professionals who have to attend meetings.

Fran Eccles-Bech, the chief executive of Manchester Law Society, told the Manchester Evening News:
“Yet again it’s been a wonderful night for everyone involved – all the hard work has definitely been worth it. The awards serve to recognise genuine brilliance in Manchester’s legal sector – it’s a considerable achievement to be shortlisted for the awards in the first place, even before our eventual winners are decided.”

The society’s current president, Mike Devlin, selected a charity to partner the awards and elected to go with Back on Track. Another key partner for the MLA this year was MEN Media. Meanwhile, the event was marketed by the PR specialists, RMS.

The drinks reception began in the early evening. This part of the proceedings was delivered via the sponsorship of VDocs.

Anthony Lyons, who has been working at Kuits Solicitors, secured the prestigious award for lifetime achievement. His career has spanned several decades and he has concentrated his efforts on the legal aspects of leisure and licensing.
