Manchester to host Oktoberfest beer battle

Oktoberfest in Manchester will see the city’s best breweries take on Bavaria’s finest.

After a successful celebration in 2019, the festival honouring hops and beer is once more returning to Manchester’s award-winning venue, the Albert Hall.

The special event will feature the same limited-edition festival beers on tap that its German counterpart usually offers visitors to Munich festival. Joining the powerhouse Bavarian breweries on site such as Spaten, Hacker Pschorr and Paulaner will be Mancunian beer makers Blackjack and Seven Brothers providing stiff competition.

Those taking part in the celebrations will find plenty to eat with their beer at the festival tables including Bavarian classics like Sauerkraut and sausages. Organisers of festivals and fairs can sometimes use promotional products to give attendees something to remember the occasion by.

Music over the two-day event will include an Anglo Bavarian mix with Manchester DJs providing dance tracks while traditional oompah bands break out the brass on the main stage. Other activities include the bratwurst eating championship and a competition for the best dressed lederhosen.

Manchester’s Oktoberfest will take place in the Grade II listed surrounds of the Albert Hall on 27 Peter Street. The epic beer festival will run from Friday September 25 to Saturday September 26 and include three separate “Bier Hall” sessions. Tickets for the event are prices at £13.75 each.
