What's Happening in Manchester, England…

Manchester judged UKs best city for live music

Analysis from Trinity Mirror indicates that Manchester is the best big British city when it comes to live music.

The data collected by Trinity Mirror showed that Manchester hosts an impressive number of gigs per person. According to the statistics gathered, the city should be the site for about 87 shows for each 100,000 people in its population during the remainder of 2016. This might mean that there is considerable demand for poster printing within Manchester in the future.

The city of Manchester attracts its share of big names. Venues like the Manchester Arena appeal to bands with significant followings. However, new acts are also catered for within the city-region. Venues such as the Soup Kitchen serve as platforms for groups who are on a learning curve.

The research showed that Manchester comfortably outperforms Glasgow and London as a hub for live music. Glasgow will witness around 44 shows per 100,000 citizens before the close of 2016, while London scores less heavily than Glasgow.

However, when it comes to the volume of local theatre, Manchester does not shine quite so brightly. Edinburgh outperforms Manchester in this category, although the gap is a narrow one.

Furthermore, the data collected by Trinity Mirror suggests that Manchester offers a superior overall cultural offer in comparison to other cities in England, including Leeds, Leicester and Sheffield.
