Manchester firms recognised by Big Chip Awards

Businesses from across Greater Manchester have received credit in the annual Big Chip Awards (BCA).

Manchester Digital is the organisation that puts on the BCA. The event celebrates best practice in the digital industry in the North of England, allowing local enterprises in the sector can make the most out of digital business cards and digital copying.

Shaun Fensom, the Chair for the Steering Group of the BCA, said:
“Greater Manchester’s booming digital scene is apparent in this shortlist. There is a large number of new and exciting companies coming out of the region that we have seen entering fantastic work for the first time, which is incredibly promising for the region’s future in tech.”

The awards ceremony will be hosted in Manchester, taking place in the Midland Hotel. An impressive 63 out of 88 entries on the shortlist are from outfits located within the city region of Greater Manchester.

A variety of Manchester businesses are in with a chance of winning a prize. These organisations include digital agencies like HiFi and Mosquito. However, e-commerce specialists at Fluid Digital have an opportunity, while tech and media business Digital Training Solutions is in with a shout as well.

The judging panel for 2016 included a range of professionals with plenty of experience in the industry. Bill Thompson of the BBC, Lee Strafford of Plusnet and C3UK’s Emily Louise Higgins all feature alongside Al Scott, the chair of the team.

The awards will be held on June 23.
