What's Happening in Manchester, England…

Legal firm expands in central Manchester

European legal firm Fieldfisher is extending its presence within the centre of Manchester.

Fieldfisher has more than 100 employees and it is poised to occupy a floor of the Free Trade Exchange, an imposing structure located on Peter Street. Demand for customised stationery within Manchester may increase if law firms continue to thrive in the city centre.

Fieldfisher has 13 partners inside the local area and is in the process of recruiting another one to the team. The managing partner within the organisation, Michael Chissick, told the Manchester Evening News:

“The expansion in Manchester is a reflection of the strength of the firm in the UK as well as the growth of the firm internationally. Manchester is recognised as a leading European business destination and Fieldfisher is keen to build on its existing business in the North West and will continue to invest in the team.”

Ian Austin, a Manchester-based manager, framed the expansion as being part of a wider growth strategy. He pointed out that the Manchester team possessed a lot of experience prior to the latest wave of recruitment. Furthermore, he indicated that recent additions to the team have been high in quality.

OBI Property assisted Fieldfisher to secure the new accommodation. Will Lewis played an important role in giving advice with regard to the deal.
