Jukebox musical set to return to Manchester
Abba fans living in Manchester have received the best news possible, with the confirmation that the smash hit jukebox musical based around the band’s songs, Mamma Mia, will be arriving in the city again next summer.
Mamma Mia has been a massive success around the world, and was turned into an equally popular film in 2008. It will be playing at Manchester’s Palace Theatre throughout May and June of 2016.
This run is almost certain to be a sell-out, but printing services in Manchester are still likely to be called into action to produce posters for display around the city.
The musical takes songs from the Swedish band’s catalogue and uses them to depict a story of friends and family, within the idyllic setting of an island in Greece.
Judy Craymer’s stage production has attracted audiences of over 54 million during 49 different stagings, while the film version remains the live-action musical with the highest box office gross in cinema history.
Craymer told the Manchester Evening News:
Mamma Mia will be in Manchester between 10th May and 4th June, with tickets on sale from 25th March.
