The American solo artist, Evidence, is about to embark on a tour, and is due to play a gig in Manchester at the beginning of August.
This leading rapper and successful music producer hails from Los Angeles, California. He got together with collaborator Rakaa in the early ‘90s to found Dilated Peoples, and the trio became complete when DJ Babu joined. At the time, they were serious players on the hip-hop scene with their sampled music.
Evidence's discography is impressive and includes four solo albums, notably his 2007 debut LP 'The Weatherman', as well as an EP - not forgetting his contribution to Dilated Peoples. 2014 saw the release of an album with The Alchemist under the pseudonym Step Brothers.
As a solo artist and producer, he has successfully collaborated with the likes of Aloe Blacc, Beastie Boys, Westside Gunn and Linkin Park, scoring a host of Billboard Top 10 hits as a consequence.
He has also picked up a Grammy Award for his work on Kanye West’s 'College Dropout', not to mention two JUNO Awards.
