What's Happening in Manchester, England…

Five Guys set to walk into the Trafford Centre

The fast food chain Five Guys will be making the intu Trafford Centre the location for its first restaurant in Manchester. Five Guys has become a successful brand name in the States thanks to the size of its burgers, and now plans to expand into Northern England – starting with a berth in one of Manchester’s biggest retail centres.

The hamburger giant will be taking the place vacated by Saffron, a Mediterranean-themed restaurant, and the red and white colours used throughout its branding will give it instant appeal for one half of the city. However, should fans from the blue half of Manchester be more sceptical, Five Guys will be able to call on the full colour printing capabilities of Manchester print shops, making the burgers and 250,000 toppings look as appetising as possible.

These unique additional flavourings have helped the restaurant chain expand rapidly since its launch in 1986. Back then, Five Guys was a family firm, but it now boasts 1,000 branches around the world.

The intu Trafford Centre general manager, Richard Paxton, stated:

“This is a very exciting new signing for us, and we’re delighted to welcome such a vibrant and on-trend restaurant to join our mix.”

The 4,000 sq ft location at the food court entrance is currently undergoing a significant refit, and Five Guys is expected to be ready to open by the middle of April.
