What's Happening in Manchester, England…

Embankment plans move nearer fruition

Plans to construct a modern shopping and business complex in the centre of Manchester have moved a step nearer to completion, with the news that the car park offering 442 spaces has topped out.

Those behind the scheme are describing this as a major step forward for the redevelopment of the city’s embankment, which is located close to Manchester Cathedral and Victoria Station.

When it has been completed, the project will provide two separate office blocks, set to be called 101 and 100 Embankment, alongside a number of other facilities.

The car park, which will be on three levels, is a central part of the first phase in this project, and those behind the scheme – Tristan Capital Partners, Carillion and Ask Real Estate – stated that the news that it has topped out is hugely encouraging.

John Hughes, the managing director of Ask Real Estate, said that companies are queuing up to secure office space within 101 Embankment, ahead of its opening next summer. He commented:

“The scheme’s bursting with potential; we’re seeing a definite appetite for the offering and are already fielding enquiries from a number of potential occupiers.”

Once it opens, the companies occupying the block will be able to turn to places that provide luxury business cards in Manchester, to ensure that they are equipped with the necessary supplies.

The 101 Embankment block is expected to open during July of next year.
