Country hip-hop comes to Manchester
American singer-songwriter Jessie Murph is currently on tour and is due to play Manchester towards the end of August.
This Nashville-born 18-year-old songstress was brought up in small-town Alabama. She started singing with an accompanying guitar/piano at an early age and both her parents were musicians. Her musical influences encompass artists as diverse as Rihanna and Sheryl Crow.
Jessie moved to Athens, Georgia against the backdrop of a broken home, school bullying, and low expectations. She began posting on social media, notably YouTube, quickly creating a buzz, with lyrics inspired by real events and composed of emotional storytelling.
Apart from covers she has also attracted an audience thanks to her own self-penned songs. These include 'Upgrade', 'Look Who's Cryin Now', and 'When I'm Not Around', all finding a release between January and October 2021.
But it was the track 'Always Been You', appearing in November 2021, that established her firm presence. This was followed up by 'While Your'e At It' and 'How Could You' amongst others. While an initial mixed tape 'Drowning' came out in February 2023.
Tickets cost £29.12 inclusive of a transaction fee. Promotional pens can add an extra dimension to any campaign seeking to advertise a future concert or musical event.
Jessie Murph's show has a starting time of 7.00 pm on Thursday 22nd August, at Albert Hall, Manchester.
