What's Happening in Manchester, England…

American author sets Manchester date

'An Evening With Fran Lebowitz' has been scheduled for Manchester in mid-September, as part of her latest international tour.

This social and cultural commentator who lives in New York is recognised as one of the most astute observers of the contemporary scene. She previously had a variety of jobs, including an apartment cleaner, before Andy Warhol hired her to write for 'Interview'.

Her often-acerbic opinions and essays encompass current events as well as pet hates such as roller skating adults and baggage-claims issues. Indeed, 'The Fran Lebowitz Reader' can now be accessed in nine different languages.

Lebowitz is famous for playing Judge Janice Goldberg in TV's 'Law & Order' (2001-2007). She also leant her skills to ‘Pretend It’s A City', the Emmy-nominated Netflix documentary directed by Martin Scorsese, which proved to be a huge success. It offered a snapshot of New York life, together with her humorous commentary.

In this event, Lebowitz will be talking, as usual, on a diversity of subjects, on everything from her youth in New Jersey to modern celebrity culture.

Tickets range in price from £29.25 to £49.25, inclusive of a booking fee. Stationery printers are a useful resource for those engaged in the promotion of a stage or theatrical event.

'An Evening With Fran Lebowitz' has a starting time of 7.30 pm on Wednesday, 17 September at The Bridgewater Hall, Manchester.
