A popular humourist, The Sunday Sessions ft. Chris Tavener show is due to take place in Macclesfield at the beginning of June.
Tavener hails from Northwich in Cheshire and delivers stories in song, whilst making sharp social comments, all In a theatrical manner. His lyrics view the world through the eyes of flawed people, focusing on both the harsh realities and funny aspects of life in the 21st century. This combination of humorous words with innovative melodies has drawn comparisons with Bob Dylan and Tim Minchin.
The comic's first appearance at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival was in 2024, presenting his solo show 'Chris Tavener is Faking Cool’. Over two weeks in August he received a series of rave reviews. This success led to invites to support singer/songwriter Gaz Brookfield and old-timer rocker John Otway.
Chris has toured the UK and Europe himself and played Glastonbury, with his songs airing on BBC 6 Music as well as on numerous BBC Introducing programmes. His popular live performances have seen him share the stage with Tony Hadley. He has also written songs for Sir Ian McKellen.
