These classes are being set up by Sarah Lewis, a cycling coach, with South Park in Macclesfield set to serve as the starting point for them. They are being given the name Hello Velo and will let the women who sign up to them get instruction on biking as part of a group, removing one hand from the bars to make a signal and taking corners, among other aspects of cycling.

Speaking to In Your Area, Lewis stated that the purpose of the classes was not fitness training, so speeds would be kept low and the atmosphere would be friendly.
She then added:
“Participants say it is a great course for learning or brushing up on key skills for cycling. There are plenty of places to ride a bike in Macclesfield, but often the main thing holding you back is having the confidence to get started.”
The classes are scheduled to run for a period of six weeks, with the first one taking place from 1:45 pm on Wednesday, November 3.
