Student training hub to be built near Lutterworth

A brand new hub that will offer research and training classes in supply chains and the logistics industry is set to be built at a location not far from Lutterworth, for use by college students.

This project is the result of a link-up between Wincanton, a firm that operates within that industry, and North Warwickshire and South Leicestershire College. The name of the facility will be the Centre for Logistics Education and Research and the chosen location for it is Magna Park, just outside of Lutterworth.

There is already a centre in the local area that provides a service similar to that planned for the new facility, but all of its operations are set to be switched to the new hub when it opens. The cost of it is expected to be around £1.8 million.

Companies based within Magna Park and other parts of the town have the option of getting Business Cards and other everyday corporate materials from shops in Lutterworth.

Once this hub opens, it will provide training to around 1,000 young people. The hope is that it will meet a need within the industry that the pandemic and Brexit exposed.

Marion Plant from the college stated that it will handle every stage of the education and training process. A date for work to start has not yet been announced.
