Revised plans revealed for major Lutterworth development
Leicestershire County Council has announced some revisions to a major development it is planning to construct at a site on the outskirts of Lutterworth.
This development will be called ‘Lutterworth East’ and will cover a site that measures 550 acres. The chosen site is alongside the M1, and the council gained the necessary planning permission to build it in 2022. The finished project is set to be a mix of housing, business units and green spaces, and all of that remains intact in the revised version.
The difference is that the council now wants to focus on constructing the facilities for business use first, with the rest built over several phases. It is also looking to cut back on the number of affordable homes included within the development. These changes are due to the rising building costs since it was announced.
If the business spaces are finished first, any companies that move into them will find that Lutterworth has useful services available. These include places that offer business card printing, among others.
The council has stated that the changes will still mean that ‘Lutterworth East’ is constructed in full. It is just that the timetable for completion would be extended.
