Refurbishment planned for leisure centre in Lutterworth
A leisure centre in Lutterworth is one of two in the local area that are set to be given a facelift at the cost of millions of pounds, with a contractor having now been chosen to carry out the work.
Harborough District Council has selected Everyone Active as the contractor for the project, which will cost a total of £5 million. This sum will be divided between the two venues that are scheduled for refurbishment. These are the Harborough Leisure Centre and Lutterworth Sports Centre, and the plans for them are ambitious.
Both of the venues are to be provided with inflatables for use within the swimming pools, as well as a greater number of gym stations. However, a main focus of the work at Lutterworth Sports Centre will be the creation of a brand-new area for soft play, ideal for use by families.
Meanwhile, Harborough Leisure Centre will be equipped with an upgraded dome for netball and tennis. Brochure printing from Lutterworth shops will be one option available to the management of the centres when it comes to advertising the improved facilities.
Phil Knowles from the council told the Harborough Mail that:
A start date is still to be announced.
