Post office revamp will benefit customers

The refurbishment of the Post Office on Lutterworth’s Western Avenue is set to benefit customers, as the opening hours will be extended.

The revamped branch is due to launch on Monday 3rd of March, and visitors will see significant improvements, as it will be accessible on Sundays for the first time – between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm – while also remaining open for longer between Monday and Saturday.

The branch primarily serves those living on the Southern Estate and, alongside the new hours, the revamp will also provide them with a service for the renewal of car tax and an increase in the number of serving positions, to three. The redevelopment of the Western Avenue Post Office will make a real difference not just to those living in the local area, but also to businesses which work with it, such as Print companies in Lutterworth that supply it with much needed Stationery printing.

Caroline Pritchard, the area manager for the Post Office, said:

“The modernisation is part of a major investment programme to convert the Post Office network to new-style branches and this investment, the largest in the history of the Post Office, marks a commitment to no more branch closure programmes.”

The office will temporarily close on 20th of February, with customers being asked to use the branches in Connaught Road or St Mary’s Place for the duration.
