New homes could be built near Lutterworth
A number of new homes could be built at a site just outside Lutterworth, if the local council opts to approve the plans that have been submitted.
The developer that is behind them is Hallam Land Management Ltd and that company is hoping to build the homes on a field. The chosen site is off Swinford Road, close to the M1’s Junction 20. The plans that have been sent to Harborough District Council are for a total of 90 new homes at this site. These plans would also involve the creation of landscaped garden areas and open spaces for use by the general public.
Plans for a development similar to this one were rejected seven years ago, even though the planning officers for the council were in favour of them. The reason given for that decision was that the chosen location was in breach of local planning policies. The council also argued that the site would be hard for those without cars to access.
Hallam Land Management Ltd is stating that this cannot be claimed about its proposed development, because it would be directly alongside Lutterworth East. This is another housing scheme that has already been approved.
