Lutterworth cinema fans could be in for a treat in 2013 as Plans get underway to build a new cinema in the Harborough district. After five years of negotiation and planning, work is due to start on the cinema at the end of January 2013.
Marion Lewis, the chair of the Harborough Screen Committee, has been campaigning and fundraising to help push the plans for the cinema forward. Marion commented on this, saying:
“We are now ready to move the project forward with the in-kind support of local companies such as Michael Lavender Architects, MDA Consulting Ltd of Leicester and Laing O’Rourke who have enabled us to get the necessary building consents. The committee, the volunteers and many companies who have offered their services for free have worked tirelessly to raise the funding required to get the cinema project to this stage.”
