Brodie Smith-Howell, aged eight, had originally planned to give the Little Princess Trust seven inches of hair, but then decided that this amount should be increased to eleven inches once the cutting actually began.
Her mother Natalie told a reporter from the Rugby Observer that the entire family took incredible pride in Brodie’s generosity, and considered it a great cause to donate to, before adding:
“The Little Princess Trust uses donated hair to make wigs for ill children who have none. The children will be able to brush their hair – something we do every day without thinking about it.”
She also stated that Brodie had indicated that she might repeat the gesture in the future.
The youngster attends Sherrier Primary School and is currently seeking donations and sponsors, with £420 having been raised up to now. The wigs used by the Little Princess Trust cost an average of £350 apiece.

Hair stylists working at the town’s Eclipse Hair are also assisting her, by cutting, washing and styling her new hairdo at no charge.
