Lutterworth veterinary nurse climbs mountain for dementia

A veterinary nurse in Lutterworth will have a mountain to climb next year, but it is all in aid of a good cause.

Sarah Armstrong is an employee of Broughton Veterinary Group and works at the practices in both Broughton Astley and Lutterworth. Alongside her demanding job though, she is currently getting ready for a major charity challenge. Armstrong will be climbing Mount Kilimanjaro in aid of two charities – Phoenix Group North Warwickshire and the Alzheimer’s Society.

Both provide help for people with dementia, which is an issue close to her heart. Two of her grandparents Keith Hartsorn and Irene Armstrong were diagnosed with it. The former also went to sessions run by Phoenix Group North Warwickshire.

Armstrong is aiming to raise a minimum of £2,000 and she will undertake her challenge in the company of Dan, her husband. The training schedule involves lengthy walks to increase stamina levels.

When local people want to promote charity fundraisers, Graphic Design Services in Lutterworth can help. They can assist in creating Posters that grab the attention of potential donors.

Speaking to the Harborough Mail, Armstrong said:
“I have always wanted to do something like this, and it seemed the perfect way to celebrate our marriage while remembering my wonderful grandparents and raising money to help other people living with dementia.”

The climb will take place in January of next year.
